Nicki Bowman
About
Nicki established her leadership practice in 2019, focused on coaching and training leaders and teams to enable them to achieve peak performance using practical tools and skills which can be swiftly implemented.
Prior to establishing that practice, Nicki’s leadership career spanned over two decades across industries as diverse as mining, finance, sport and manufacturing. She has trained extensively not only in leadership, but in speaking and facilitation to enhance her lived leadership experience.
Her career began in a national law firm, where she acted for several mining and industrial clients. She then took a role at BHP’s NSW Collieries operations, followed by a year on a global strategy project with BHP Engineering. Nicki moved over to BHP Steel and worked on the transition out of BHP, staying on as part of the Industrial Markets team, following which she was appointed as the Vice President Business Services on the executive team at New Zealand Steel.
After returning to Australia Nicki first worked in the financial services industry, but soon returned to mining as a non-executive director of ASX-listed mining and exploration companies Blackthorn Resources Limited and then Intrepid Mines Limited.
A keen soccer player since childhood, Nicki has had several football-related roles, including as a founding director of Football South Coast Limited and a member of the former FFA Women’s Advisory Group. She is also a board member of the charity Dress for Success Sydney and the founder of its Illawarra branch. In 2019 she was appointed the Australia Day Ambassador for Wollongong in recognition of her philanthropic work.
Products And Services
Nicki’s services all centre around the leadership and influence models, frameworks and curriculum she has built and her programs and services are always tailored to meet specific client needs. Her key areas of focus are:
- Four Legs Leadership Program: This is a 12-module program covering all of the critical skills and insights needed by leaders in order to build resilient, innovative and high performing teams and is designed for groups of 6-12 participants. Courses and workshops can be tailored using all or part of the Program depending on client needs.
- Executive Communication and Influence: Nicki has trained extensively in speaking, facilitation and group dynamics and has worked with global clients such as IBM in coaching and training executives and leaders to greatly enhance the impact and effectiveness of their communication one-on-one, one-to-team and one-to-many.
- Individual Coaching: Nicki also takes on a limited number of individual leadership coaching clients and assists them in moving past obstacles, gaining new tools and skills to more effectively manage their teams and stepping up to higher level leadership roles.
- Team building and facilitation: Nicki designs and facilitates workshops aimed at building greater team insight and cohesion, creating strategic and business plans and implementing cultural shift.
Nicki provides excellent thought-provoking training in leadership that capture the audiences at all levels in their leadership journey from executives to first time managers.
