Squadron Energy is an Australian-owned energy company dedicated to accelerating the decarbonisation of Australia’s economy. Abundant renewable resources, a huge land mass and significant mineral deposits open up the opportunity for Australia and the Illawarra region to become a global clean energy leader.

Squadron Energy is constructing the Port Kembla Energy Terminal, which will import more than 70 per cent of NSW’s gas needs, before being re-purposed for hydrogen when the market is ready. The Australian-owned company is also designing Australia’s largest dual fuel power station, designed to transition to hydrogen which means there will be no longer-term dependence on fossil fuels. The projects have the potential to support 300,000 jobs across NSW and contribute to the investment attractiveness, workforce diversification and skills-base of the Wollongong area.
