EnergyCo

About

EnergyCo is a NSW Government agency responsible for coordinating the development of renewable energy infrastructure across New South Wales. Its core role is to plan, procure and deliver Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and major transmission projects that will replace ageing coal-fired power stations and support a reliable, affordable and low-emissions electricity system.

EnergyCo works with industry, communities and investors to deliver the infrastructure needed to connect large-scale renewable energy generation and storage to the electricity grid. This includes enabling projects such as wind farms, solar farms, batteries, transmission lines and supporting infrastructure.

Through these initiatives, EnergyCo is helping unlock significant private investment and economic opportunities across regional NSW, supporting the growth of new industries and a cleaner energy future.

The organisation is also responsible for leading the delivery of the NSW Renewable Energy Zones in locations including the Central-West Orana, New England, South-West, Hunter-Central Coast and Illawarra regions.
