A message from i3net Chairman, Mr Emilio Salucci.
Dear valued members, corporate partners and stakeholders,
What a fantastic 12 months it has been for the network.
We started off the year hearing from the University of Wollongong speaking about their capital development works.
We had an industry 4.0 workshop in March, and later heard from BlueScope.
Our Corporate Partners, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia gave an excellent budget presentation.
We partnered with groups to hold events, and also heard from Darren Vine of Komatsu, talking about their need for more suppliers.
And then there was the Showcase. What a fantastic event! We heard from AIE and Snowy Hydro, and also had the opportunity to network with some fantastic delegates.
In December we held our AGM and heard excellent presentations from the Prysmian Group, Access Law Group and received an update on AIE as well.
One thing I know for sure is that you can’t achieve what i3net has during the last 12 months without an incredible team, and I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to the i3net board.
It is my pleasure to lead a board that volunteers so much of their time and are passionate about our industry and the network. I would like to thank them for their efforts during the last 12 months. Robert Donsante – Klondu, Brendon Cohen – Chromax Hard Chrome, John Zagame – R.Stahl Australia, Yvonne Walker – HR with Ease, David Bridge – Bridge Project Solutions and Mark Grimson – Wollongong City Council.
I also want to say thank you to our members and corporate partners. Because of you, the Illawarra truly is an innovative and talented region.
As mentioned at the AGM, Brendon Cohen has served his full term on the Board. I would like to personally thank Brendon for his contribution.
I had also served my full-term on the board. However, as per the i3net constitution, there was a possibility of being invited to return to the Board if there were vacancies. I am pleased to report that I was given this invitation after the AGM by the Board. Proudly, I was offered the opportunity to again lead the network as Chairman. This is an honour for me. And I thank the Board and the network for the continued support and confidence in my leadership.
For the remaining vacancies, the Board has now received a number of interests, and is carefully assessing these interests to potential Board roles. As such, the 2019 i3net Board will be announced in early 2019.
As mentioned at last weeks industry breakfast, the board is committed to our network, and already they are planning events for next year. We have confirmed South32 will be speaking at our first industry breakfast next year, on Friday 22nd February. Please mark that in your diaries.
Thank you again for your support this year, and I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are looking forward to an industrious and positive 2019.
