Showcase background and overview
On Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November 2019, the Illawarra Innovative Industry Network (i3net) hosted the 8th annual Industry Showcase.
The 2019 event SOLD OUT!
The Industry Showcase is i3net’s premier event and forms an integral part of its purpose to ‘Inspire Illawarra Industry Growth & Sustainability’. For visitors, the Showcase is a great opportunity to visit the Illawarra and discover the Industry Capability in the region. For members, the event provides the opportunity to network with the Showcase delegates and key decision-makers.
The showcase featured an industry tour, dinner, breakfast and an expo. The scheduled events were well attended by i3net members, corporate partners, key stakeholders, politicians, guests and delegates.
The 2019 list of delegates was particularly strong with over 21 individuals from:
- Australian Industrial Energy (AIE)
- BAE Systems Australia
- Bylong Coal Project
- Cement Australia
- Cleanaway ResourceCo
- Energy Australia, Tallawarra Power Station
- NAVANTIA Australia
- NSW Ports
- Transport for NSW
- Seymour Whyte.
The tour took delegates on a bus tour with stops to visit local member businesses, leading research facilities, major transportation infrastructure and local landmarks.
At the 2019 dinner a new format was trialled to allow many delegates to present in a panel-style format. This ensured that no matter what part of industry attendees were from there was a speaker of particular interest. The Dinner included access to a member expo, where attendees interacted with members to learn about local industry capability. The Dinner event was emceed by ABC radio’s Nick Rheinberger.
The showcase breakfast provided attendees with the opportunity to hear from Cleanaway Resource Co. Attendees also heard the opportunities available from the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, and a number of i3net members presented their business in a lightning presentation format. The Breakfast event was emceed by the Business Development Manager, Illawarra-Shoalhaven, Regional NSW, Regions, Industry, Agriculture and Resources, Rob Little.
